After a week of nonstop, sleep-disturbing, tummy-turning nausea, I went out and bought some "Seabands" on the advice of my many, many pregnancy books. Seabands are basically elasic wristbands with little plastic pellets embedded in each one. You put them on your wrists, positioning the plastic pellets right under your wrists, where they stimulate the acupressure point that relieves nausea and motion sickness. Sounds hokey, I know, but guess what?
My nausea is gone. Well, not completely gone, but about 80% gone. Gone enough for me to go back to work (yippee, I know). At least I can eat again. My taste buds are still off--last night's tofu tasted like smooth plastic--but I'm gagging once an hour instead of once every 5 minutes, and for that I have to thank my trusty Seabands.
