Grandma Julie and Lila in front of our tree
Our first week home has passed in a whirlwind of feedings, diaper changes, and random snatches of sleep. I am basically on Lila's schedule, which means whenever she sleeps, I do too. I'd dreamt of eating sushi and oysters after delivery, but these days I'm lucky if I can scarf down a sandwich or some yogurt while she naps.
That's where my mom comes in. She's staying with us for a couple of months to help out with the baby. Not only is she great at soothing Lila and putting her to sleep, she's also been making sure that I eat nutritiously, helping around the house, doing baby laundry, and even feeding the cat (who I haven't even looked at since coming home!)
After 29 years, my mom is still taking care of me. I would never be able to do this without my mom. Thanks mom!
I wonder, 29 years from now, will I be helping Lila with her own baby?
